About The Ministry

History of Second Chance Fellowship Outreach Ministries, Inc.

Second Chance Fellowship Outreach Ministries, Inc. (SCF) is the brainchild of Elder Curtis Leaks, III.  When he heard God speak “Second Chance” to him, he began to develop what was needed to have this dream come true.  He prayed earnestly with prayer partners for one year and brought the idea to his mother, grandmother and great-aunts.  After he received their encouragement, Second Chance Fellowship Outreach Ministries was started.

SCF had its first worship service on Sunday, July 10, 2005, at the Holiday Inn Hotel on Democrat Road.  Five people joined that day.  After seven months of having service at the hotel, his pastor, Rev. Paul Reed of New Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, gave him the keys to his old building at 1497 Gold Avenue.  On February 12, 2006, SCF moved into their new home.  This was their home for over eight years.  Presently, SCF is located at 42 South Parkway West, where God is performing Miracles.

SCF established bylaws in 2006, gained its charter and was incorporated in December of 2007.  SCF applied for and received the 501(c)3 designation.

God has truly blessed SCF who has grown in love, fellowship, membership and finances.  It is an experience to experience Second Chance Fellowship Outreach Ministries, Inc.
